If you're looking for wedding speeches examples, then you've probably got the enviable (and possibly stressful) task ahead of you to give a speech at a wedding, and you don't have any idea how to do that. Here are a few tips for creating and delivering that unforgettable wedding speech, even if you've never given a speech in public before! * First of all, you have to make the decision whether you're going to have a few jokes in your speech, or that it's just going to be serious and mushy. Weddings are happy occasions, so it's usually ok to use a little humor - everyone will be in a good mood and the jokes will go over well. Just make sure that they're clean - remember that grandma and grandpa and all their friends will be there, not just friends of the wedding couple. * You'll probably be nervous - that's normal - but just keep in mind that these people want you to succeed, so you're sure to get some grace. Just be natural, and everything will be fine. * Make an outline ahead of time, so you know exactly what you want to say. You want it to sound natural and off-the-cuff, but it should be anything but that. You're going to want to have it planned out so you don't freeze up and fumble your words. * If you can find a couple of marriage one-liners, that's a great addition to any wedding speech. You really want to be sure your jokes aren't real long, though - blowing the punch line after a five minute joke will have everyone there groaning to themselves. Ugh! * You might be required to thank some people for coming - this depends on what part you have in the wedding. So don't plan on all jokes and humor - take care of business too! Some of the people that need to be thanked are parents, in-laws, friends, groomsmen, and bridesmaids. * Don't share anecdotes about the bachelor or bachelorette party - remember grandma and grandpa! Do share a clever anecdote about marriage. Here's an example. "Marriage is where a man and a woman become one. The problem starts when they try to find out which one". This is a simple little joke that can put the crowd at ease, and really make you seem funny, even if you're not! * Don't put the microphone to close to your mouth. This will make your voice sound muffled, and you want your speech to be clear and easily understood by everyone. Along these lines, don't talk too fast. This is a common problem of inexperienced speech makers, so practice in front of the mirror, and slow down. There you go - have a good time with it!
